How to do Business Travel in just a Carry-On

Hey there! Jennii Lyn from Canteens and Carabiners here. This week I was sent to Phoenix for a three day business conference. I was able to pack everything I needed in a carry on and a personal item. Here’s how I did it:The Carry OnI took my Aleia 22 North Face backpacking pack. I try and keep my travel as simple as possible, and I don’t have separate luggage just for travel. Backpacking packs are PERFECT for carry on items. Some airlines have started charging for carry-ons (lame - right?) But my purse and backpack were both counted as personal items and I wasn’t charged anything extra. It fit just as much as a normal carry on luggage item would...

How to Pack for a Fall Overnighter

Hello Wanderlusters! Jennii Lyn from Canteens and Carabiners here. Anyone else love FALL? To be honest, fall is my favorite - even above summer. I can’t get enough of pumpkin spice, bonfires, and oversized sweaters. We also usually do most of our exploring in the fall. My husband and I are taking a mini trip to do some rock climbing down at Maple Canyon this week, so I figured I’d let you in on exactly how we pack and dress for quick trips. Why Local Travel Is Awesome and How to Get Started

Hey Wanderlusters. Jennii Lyn from Canteens and Carabiners here. The last few months have been a little bit crazy for the hubs and I. We bought our first home and spent a lot of time packing, moving, and unpacking. We both started new jobs, have been volunteering for our church, and started a little side business. It has been CRAZY! Unfortunately, this hasn’t left as much exploring the wonders of the World. Instead, we’ve been focusing our few free weekends exploring the local scene. I have loved this experience, so I wanted to put a plug in for local travel, and give you a few tips on how to get started. No one wants to be THAT person who lives...

What to do When Nothing is Going According to Plan

Hello Wanderlusters! Jennii Lyn here. About a year ago, the hubs and I took a trip to Yosemite National Park, and...it rained. ALL weekend. The half dome trail was closed and we got SNOWED out of rock climbing. We’d been planning the trip for months - checking the weather, planning out our visit, researching the best trails and climbing routes - but we were SO not expecting SNOW to close down some of the roads. Such a bummer. So, what do you do when things don’t go as planned? Some of the most common traveler problems include:    •    Weather Problems    •    Lost Luggage    •    Flight Delays/Cancellations    •    Lost Documents/Passports    •    Health IssuesPlan AheadThe best way to avoid problems, is to...
